These gluten-free, buckwheat scones are a twist on the classic recipe and come in batches of six. Baked fresh to order in St. Albans by our own baker, The Twilight Baker, they are available for collection or for local delivery. They are made with organic buckwheat flour, organic ground almonds and coconut flour and, we think, will trump the classic scone any day of the week. They are not too sweet and perfect with jam, yet, satisfyingly filling. You’re going to be pleasantly surprised by this wholesome cousin of the humble scone.
Organic and True
Most flours contain residues which aren’t healthy for us. However, The Twilight Baker, uses our organic flours that are produced without glyphosate – a common weedkiller which is harmful to soil and crop health. Organically farmed crops are much more resilient, present a stronger crop and contribute to a healthier environment.
The Twilight Baker uses only free-range eggs because as well as allowing our feathery friends to enjoy some sunshine, the eggs contain higher amounts of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin E, and beta carotene than intensely farmed chicken eggs. These added nutrients protect the brain and support the health of our brain and bones.
Finally, at The Twilight Bakery, they add no preservatives or additives to any of their products because, put simply, quality fresh produce doesn’t need it. This is food in its truest form.
