Hand picking & plucking makes the job of removing the stigma of crocuses a laborious & back-breaking. This is reflected in the price. But what a difference good quality saffron makes to risotto! Our Spanish saffron, when soaked in water for 15 minutes before preparation, produces a fine yellow colour & distinct, flowery aroma. Colour cous cous dishes or add to cooking Indian rice dishes, Italian risotto & Spanish paella. It also goes well with other chicken & seafood dishes.
An important note about Allergens
While we do everything we can to avoid cross contamination, all Eat Wholefood branded products are packed and stored in an area which has the following allergens: sesame, soya, nuts, peanuts, wheat, celery seeds and mustard. So, unfortunately we cannot guarantee that Eat Wholefood branded products contain none of these allergens.
